A highly request feature, having the ability to split an item into two different lines allows you to do just that!

Simply find a line on an opportunity and click the actions button on the right and you'll notice under specific circumstances you can now split the line if the quantity is higher than one!

A new box will pop up asking you to choose how many you want to split off the original quantity.

Once done, your new line will be added with the relevant accessories - then you can choose to change the new split opportunity item lines details, for example changing pricing for a number of the items.

Your customers might sometimes CC other folks into discussion messages that you’ve sent. If the email address of a discussion reply doesn’t match a contact or organization in Current, we create them as a contact for you.

Rather this didn’t happen? We heard you. Set the new “Create contacts from emails” toggle to NO and we won’t add unknown emails as contacts.

When you change a product from bulk or none to serialized, we’d remember the bulk or non-stock level location in the database. In some rare cases, you might see this on documents when working with group bookings. We’ve banished those old locations, never to be seen again.

Calculate using combined tax rates 🧮

When it comes to taxes, every penny counts. If you apply multiple tax rates, you might have sometimes noticed that your taxes were a cent out.

We added a new toggle to System Preferences called “Calculate Using Combined Tax Rates.” When set to YES, Current will add tax rates together in order to calculate the tax total. Otherwise, it will calculate each tax rate separately and then add them together.

Some folks love the way we allocate temporary container components on an opportunity, but other folks aren’t so keen.

To cover both camps, we added a new option in System Preferences called “Temporary Container Allocation Strategy.” Choose pessimistic if you’d like Current to stop allocation when it finds the best match of items, or optimistic if you’d like to continue allocation until as many components are allocated as possible.

When editing an opportunity group, you may set the default dates for services in that group. The dates you set apply to new services that you create in the group.

Today we added an “Update Existing Service Items” checkbox. When you tick this, Current will copy the group default dates to any existing services in the group. Hopefully a handy timesaver when you’ve cloned an opportunity or changed scheduler dates!

We’ve added a new column to the product export called “Bulk Quantity Store”. This should make it less likely that you accidentally change stock levels when importing exported data, which could happen if you exported data from one store and then imported while logged into another store.

We’ve added new options to “Enforce stock availability” in System Preferences to allow you to overbook products, but not serialized stock levels. Your options are:
  • Product and serialized stock
    You cannot add more stock than is available to an opportunity
  • Serialized stock
    You can add a quantity of a product to an opportunity even if it causes a shortage, but you can’t allocate a serialized stock level if it’s unavailable.
  • No
    You can overbook both products and serialized assets

Permanently delete records in People & Organizations 🗑️

Previously we stopped you from deleting organizations linked to opportunities or other records, instead letting you make them inactive. This essentially archives the organization, so it’s still there for your reference if you’re looking through past opportunities or other records.

The forthcoming GDPR legislation means that you might need to permanently delete your customer’s information, so we now added the option to permanently delete records that might have been linked to other records in Current.

We don’t delete associated records, instead we completely anonymize the record so you’ll see something like “Deleted Organization #239” against past opportunities etc.

To delete, you’ll be required to explicitly confirm by typing “DELETE CONFIRM”. There is no undo!

In Current RMS, US addresses must have a state. However, this isn’t a requirement in QuickBooks Online. We’ve enhanced the way that we import states:
  • If there’s no state set and the customer has a ZIP code, we’ll look that up and work out the state based on it.
  • If there’s no ZIP code or we can’t determine the state using it, you can set a default state during the import and we’ll use that.
